QUARTERLY ROTATION FAQ
How does it work?
When you sign up, you will be added to the list for peer coaching. Corvus
Coaching Enterprises will then match you up with a peer coach and peer client
for the upcoming quarter (3 months). At the end of the quarter, new coaches wishing
to join are added, and those participants who wish to continue are rotated and
receive a new coach and client. You benefit by experiencing a wide range of
coaches’ styles, clients’ styles, and by getting regular feedback about your
coaching from other coaches--much like working with a mentor.
What are the benefits of participating in the Corvus Peer
Coaching Program?
The coach rotation is designed to give everyone the most
flexibility in getting what he or she wants out of the program. Plus, you will:

- Have paying clients who can provide references and testimonials.
Do these hours count towards my ICF credentials?
YES! Because you are being paid for your coaching services, you can count every hour you coach with Corvus Peer Coaching Program towards your PCC or MCC title.
How much does it cost?
You are charged a $30 administration fee each month, plus the $200 fee for your coach. At the same time, you get a client who will pay you $200 for the month. Essentially, you are getting a coach for thirty dollars a month, and additional paid hours to apply towards your ICF certification requirements. Corvus Coaching Enterprises collects the entire $230 from each participant. You will receive your client and coach assignments via email when we send the check for your client’s $200 payment. You should receive your check before the first of the month, subject to normal variation in postal delivery times.
Why don’t coach and client pay each other directly?
There are several reasons the system was set up this way. First, receiving
the entire $230 payment from each person ensures Corvus Coaching Enterprises that the participants are serious and committed before we place them in the coaching rotation. Second, it’s easier for you to write one check and send it to one place rather than
sending two checks to two different places each month. Finally, it allows us to
guarantee that you will get payment on time; if coach and client paid directly,
issues of late payment could arise and that’s something everyone would like to
avoid.
How long does the program last?
Any coach can join or quit the program between quarters--that is, each quarter
is a self-contained peer coaching program. If you want to participate for a
month to try it out, that’s fine. If you want to continue for years, that’s
fine too.
When do the quarters start?
As of July 2005, Corvus offers a Quarterly Program starting every month. These programs or rotations are divided into three groups, depending on when they start. This allows you to start in whatever month you want, or take a one-month break between quarters rather than having to wait for three months to begin. The three rotations are as follows:
Quarterly-A (calendar quarters)
- January, February, March
- April, May, June
- July, August, September
- October, November, December
Quarterly-B (calendar quarters offset by one month)
- February, March, April
- May, June, July
- August, September, October
- November, December, January
Quarterly-C (calendar quarters offset by two months)
- March, April, May
- June, July, August
- September, October, November
- December, January, February
What happens if I am matched up with a coach/client I want to work with further?
The program is designed to allow pairs who wish to continue together into the following quarter(s) to do so. Near the end of each month, Corvus will email you an evaluation form to fill out. On that form there will be a question asking if you and your coach/client have agreed to work together for another quarter. If so, the coach will receive a new coach and the client will receive a new client, but the original coach/client partnership will not change. Both coach and client must request each other for the pairing
to continue into the next quarter.
What happens if I am matched up with a coach/client I do
not want to work with?
We highly encourage participants to powerfully choose their coach and client each rotation. Remember, each pairing only lasts for one quarter (see above question) and
the intention of this program is for coaches to have the opportunity to learn while building our community. You can note on your feedback form to Corvus if you’d prefer not to work with this coach or client again. Corvus will do our best to accommodate this. Repeat clients (or repeat coaches) may happen, depending on the number of participants and other factors, but such repetitions should be rare.
What if I only want to coach?
At this point in time, participants are required to be both coach and client during each rotation they participate in. Corvus may eventually create a program in the future for people who just want to coach being matched with those who just want to be a client, provided we can come up with a way for it to work well for all involved. For the time being, we can't provide you with only a client.

What if I want to work exclusively with a particular type
of coach (i.e.; relationship coach, marketing coach, executive coach etc)?
This is also an option that Corvus plans to offer in the
future. In the mean time, we will do
what we can to accommodate any coaching preferences you have on an as-available
and case-by-case basis.
What if there are not enough people in the rotation?
This will not be a problem in the Quarterly Rotation
format. Since everyone is matched
one-to-one and every participant has both a coach and client, there will always
be enough people, given at least three participants each month.
In the future, when niche-coaching, coach-only, and
client-only rotations are offered, the number of people in the rotation will
have a greater impact. As these services become available, the number of
participants issue will be addressed for each new service.
I want to start! How do I sign up?
Please read, and fill out all sections of the Registration Application and Agreement Form. Sign it and return the form to Corvus Coaching Enterprises with your first month’s payment of $230 (made out to Corvus Coaching Enterprises). Payment and your form must be postmarked by the 20th of the month before the month you want to participate. This gives time for Corvus Coaching Enterprises to receive payment and arrange pairings.
